Not many days after the recent shut down of Apna Ghar shelter home in Rohtak, Haryana, a similar incident was registered in Karnal following the complaints and allegations of physical and sexual abuse.
Monica Das the person in charge of the Apna Ghar shelter in Karnal was booked under the case. The 6 boys and 5 girls who lived in the shelter were shifted to other shelter homes.
It was revealed in a medical test that there were marks of abuse on the children bodies. The medical reports have already been submitted to the police. 3 girls were earlier shifted to other shelter homes last year after complaints of abuse. No legal action was taken against the shelter back then.
SHO Civil Lines Karnal Gurvinder Singh said, "Children complained that the manager of the house used to beat them mercilessly and ill treat them."
