Gay Sex Is Not A Crime: Supreme Court

Gay Sex Is Not A Crime: Supreme Court:- In a historic move, the Supreme Court ruled out that consensual adult sex is not a crime calling it as a personal decision. The top court says consensual sex between adults in private space, which is not harmful to women or children, cannot be denied as it is a matter of individual choice. Decriminalizing homosexuality and abolishing Section 377 is a huge thumbs up for humanity and equal rights posted several celebrities supporting the decision of the Supreme Court.

A special bench revealed their decision today which defanged the section 377 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) which called gay sex a punishable offence. With the Supreme Court's verdict out, gay sex is no longer punishable. Section 377 results in discrimination and is violative of constitutional principles said the apex court. The Delhi Court in 2009 decriminalized sex between adults of the same gender. A review plea has been dismissed earlier by the Supreme Court and now the verdict gave a huge relief for many in the country.
