Historic Day For AP: Babu To Launch KIA's Trial Production:- Korean automobile giant KIA Motors joined hands and inked MoUs with AP Government and in a record time of one and half year, KIA is commencing trial production. AP Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu is all set to launch the trial run of the first car along with Kia MD, Shim and South Korea Ambassador to India, HE Shin Bongkil. A massive amount of Rs 12,900 crores is invested on KIA greenfield manufacturing plant which is said to be one of the biggest plant in the country in the recent times.

The plant can manufacture 3 lakh vehicles per year which will be soon expanded to 4 lakh vehicles. An agreement has been inked that 90% of the vehicles will be for domestic sales and 10% of the vehicles will be exported. The KIA plant will generate employment for 11,000 employees. AP is the first state to bring a dedicated policy for promoting manufacturing and adoption of electric vehicles. Anantapur is turning out to be a strong economic hub with the introduction of KIA Motors in the region.
