Supreme Court Issues Contempt Notice to Rahul Gandhi:- The Supreme Court of India today issued a contempt notice to Congress President Rahul Gandhi for his remarks on Rafale judgment. BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi filed a petition and the top court said that it would hear on April 30th about the criminal contempt. Rahul Gandhi wished to close the criminal contempt petition but the Surpeme Court rejected his plea. A bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi revealed the decision today.

The review petition along with the contempt petition will come for hearing next Tuesday said the bench. Rahul Gandhi on Monday expressed his regret before the Supreme Court for unintentionally linking the order of Supreme Court on April 10th petitions seeking the review of Rafale verdict to his political campaign 'chowkidar chor hai' against the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Rahul Gandhi explained that his remarks were made in a rhetorical flourish in the heat of the moment.
