AP Boat Tragedy: 35 Still Missing:- The Godavari boat tragedy on Sunday killed 13 people and 35 people went missing. The rescue operations continued on day two but the NDRF and State Disaster Response Force teams could not trace at least a single person. 27 people have been rescued after the tragedy by the locals on Sunday. The boat is said to have been traced at 315 feet. A specialized team of deep divers with “side-scan sonar" equipment from Uttarakhand are on board to help the teams. A Navy helicopter is on spot for the rescue operations.

Due to the strong currents, the rescue teams failed to find the missing and Godavari river is in spate after the recent rains. AP Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy was in Devipatnam mandal and conducted an areal survey after which he staged a meeting with the officials. An ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh was announced for the next of kin of the dead. YS Jagan enquired about the number of boats operating in the region and about the private boats which are granted permission. The families of the missing are on spot waiting for the missing to be traced.
