Kalavathi Analysis
Kalavathi has nothing new to say. Right from the story, screenplay, everything can be predictable by regular horror movie lovers. Trisha and Hansika’s glamor give the required boost and the background music at the right time, engages the audience, sticking them to the seats. Kalavathi is not an exception to fall into the list of the quality horror entertainers.
Performance
Though Siddharth is announced as the hero of the film, he has not much to do with the film. Hansika performed the title role, ‘Kalavathi’, with utmost ease. Her stupendous performance as Kalavathi could threaten many. Trisha is the glamor doll of the movie and even Sundar C gave some quality performance. Even the rest of the characters lived up to the expectations.
As background score is the key element of horror movie, it seems, a special concentration was put on it and that gave Kalavathi, a good threatening experience, for every possible scene. The cinematography is fine and the production values are ok. Editing has several flaws. If director Sundar had concentrated on the entertainment aspects like comedy, it would been more better.
Kalavathi Final Word
If you are only concerned about the horror experience and nothing else in the movie, go watch Kalavathi at your nearest theatre.
