A lawyer filed a private criminal petition in the chief judicial magistrate court of Bhopal on Friday against the 20-year old Mumbai-based model Poonam Pandey who has offered to strip naked if India wins the 2011 world cricket cup.
Lawyer RK Pandey also named the Bangalore-based liquor baron Vijay Mallya in his petition accusing him of being the hidden hand behind the offer made by the girl. The lawyer said that Punam Pandey, being a Brahmin girl, has depicted the entire Brahmin community of the county in a very poor light.
The lawyer accused that Vijay Mallya has prompted and encouraged Poonam Pandey to offer to go nude by including the scantily-clad young girl in his company’s Kingfisher calendar.
Even if Poonam does not run naked in reality, she must be punished for giving a wrong impression of the Brahmin community to the nation and the world. “She has insulted not only the Brahmin community but also the Indian culture and tradition,” RK Pandey accused in his petition.
The court will hear the case on April 5.
