Casting couch raises its ugly heads in Mumbai & actress files complaint

The ugly heads of casting couch is the brunt the actress face in the beginning of the career, sometimes voluntarily and sometimes forcefully. But a recent incident involving an actress who has to her credit 15 years of experience and to have acted in several b-grade films has come up at Versova Police station in Mumbai. Gujarati film actress and item girl, Sapna alias Zareena Shaikh launched a complaint of rape against a film producer and a financier.
The police said Sapna, who inhabits in Vinayak construction in a MHADA colony converse the phone exchange in Andheri (West), was advanced for a movie by manufacturer Ritesh Kumar Thakur, who owns the Akash Films Entertainment business, and financier Shiv Pratap Singh. She called the two over to her house with the agreement that they desired her to sign. And at her house they made an indecent proposal to her and tried to rape her.
After due consultations, with her parents and her fiancée, the thirty one year old artiste walked into the police station and complained of molestation. She also said she was threatened of dire consequences if the matter was reported to police. The duo is at large.
