Thane girl drags BJP leader to PSA 19-year-old college-going girl, who had photographed a Paani Puri vendor urinating in a utensil last month, lodged a complaint against the Bharatiya Janata Party Mumbai unit president Raj Purohit on Thursday for denigrating her in a speech.

Based on her complaint, the police have registered a case of outraging her modesty against Purohit.

After Ankita Rane of Thane captured on her camera the urinating incident, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) activists had attacked North Indians and destroyed several stalls of Paani puri and Bhelpuri stalls in Mumbai and Thane in the second week of April.

Purohit, while delivering a speech at a protest rally by the Azad Hawkers’ Union on May 2, made some denigrating remarks against the girl following which she had lodged the complaint against him.

Reacting to the complaint, Purohit termed the case as a conspiracy against him. “I have never seen any such woman. My party and I respect women. If I have hurt her sentiments by my speech, I am sorry for it,” he said.
