Harkatul Jihad al-Islami (HuJI) chief Illyas Kashmiri and 9 other terrorists were killed in raids conducted on the terrorist hideouts in South Waziristan of Pakistan by the US forces last night.
A BBC Urdu report said that the US planes conducted missile attacks near the town of Wana killing 10 terrorists including Kashmiri and injuring 3 persons. Kashmiri is a key suspect in the November 2008 Mumbai terrorist attacks.
The BBC said quoting the residents of the town that the US planes fired missiles killing the terrorists on the spot. It also quoted the Pakistani officials as saying that all the dead were Punjabi Taliban.
Local residents told the BBC that the dead terrorists were buried in a graveyard in the area.
