Dayanidhi Maran, next wicket to fall in 2G scam

Dayanidhi Maran next wicket to fall in 2G scamThe next top wicket to fall in the sensational 2G Spectrum scam could well be none other than the DMK leader and the union textile minister Dayanidhi Maran.

The talk that Dayanidhi Maran will be kicked out of the Union Cabinet in the next cabinet reshuffle has gained ground after the communications company Aircel founder C Sivasankaran told the CBI on Monday that the then Communications Minister Dayanidhi Maran had refused to entertain his applications seeking spectrum licenses and forced him to sell his company to the Malaysian company Maxis at a very cheap rate.

The case that CBI is trying to build against Maran is that he granted Spectrum licenses to the Aircel after it was sold out to the Malaysian company whose owners are very close to the Maran brothers. In return, the Malaysian company paid kickbacks to the tune of Rs 700 Cr in shape of investments into the Sun DTH and Spicejet ventures owned by the Maran brothers.

Well, he may sure lose his job. What is however not yet known is whether he will join the 2G Spectrum accused A.Raja and Kanimozhi who are cooling their heels in the Tihar jail in Delhi.
