Cameron to be quizzed by Commons Committee

british-prime-ministerThe storm over the phone hacking scandal that saw the closure of the international media baron Rupert Murdoch-owned News of the World tabloid and the resignations of UK’s top two police men has now touched the British Prime Minister David Cameron too.

Reports from London indicated that Cameron would be grilled by a Parliamentary committee over his role in the scandal. The PM has cut short his visit to Africa and returned to London to join the debate in the House of Commons and to be questioned by the members of the special committee.

On Tuesday, the parliamentary committee had questioned phone hacking scandal and his son James, their former aide Rebekah Brooks and the two police officers for their role in the scam. The father and son duo had apologized for the phone hacking scandal saying they were not aware of the goings on in the organization.

The opposition attacked the PM for employing Andy Coulson, a former editor of Murdoch's News of the World tabloid as his media adviser. He will now be quested by the Parliament over his connections with the Murdochs.
