The Kerala government has put in place a 3-tier security system to the now famous Sree Anantha Padmanabha Swamy temple in Thiruvananthapuram today in view of the fire accident that took place near the temple on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Raja Marthanda Varma of the erstwhile Travancore royal family offered special prayers and pujas in the temple this morning in view of the arrival of the 5-member experts committee led by the Director General of National Museums Mr Anand Bose.
The committee, as directed by the Supreme Court, will inspect the temple treasure found in its underground chambers and submit a report to it. The committee specialists will also study the 6th chamber that was closed 150 years ago with Naga Bhandam and suggest steps on its opening.
