Special bomb squads of the Sydney city have rushed to a house in the city suburbs this afternoon where a young woman was said to have strapped some explosive material to her body, according to media reports.

Police however could not confirm the reports but said there was certainly a problem in one of the houses in the suburb.

“We can’t confirm the reports that the explosive device was strapped to her neck or body or whether it was a hoax bomb scare planned as part of an extortion plan,” said a senior police official.

Reports said that the said woman was certainly in the vicinity of the explosive device but police were not sure the bomb was strapped to her body.
