After Delhi, Bangalore witnessed a large gathering of more than 500 persons today to protest against the arrest of anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare who was seeking a stronger Lok Pal Bill to fight corruption.

While 100 people volunteered to participate in the indefinite fast at the Freedom Park in the city, others extended their support to those who expressed their readiness for fasting.

The gathering even observed a minute’s silence after news broke out that well known RTI activist Shehla Masood was shot dead in Bhopal this morning by undefined people at her house. Shehla Masood was a leading supporter of Anna Hazare.

Most of the participants were college students who came out of their running classes after the former Lok Ayukta of Karnataka Justice N. Santosh Hegde called upon the students and youngsters to participate in the movement against corruption.

Earlier, Hegde led a demonstration in the city condemning the arrest of Hazare and his team in Delhi.
