Three days after the anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare gave up his fast, Delhi police seem to have concluded that the controversial CD reportedly having the conversation between the noted lawyer Santhi Bhushan and politicians Mulayam Singh Yadav and Amar Singh is very much genuine and not the fake one as alleged.
Reports said that the police will soon file a closure report on the complaint filed by Santhi Bhushan who alleged that the contents were doctored and the CD was fabricated.
Sources however said that Amar Singh confirmed to police that the voice in the tapes was his and the tapes were not fabricated.The CD is said to have a conversation of Santhi Bhushan with Mulayam Singh and Amar Singh in which he purportedly said that his lawyer-son Prashant Bhushan can manage a judge.
The controversial CD was sent to all media houses in April shortly after the Gandhian Anna Hazare began his fast demanding a strong Lokpal Bill. Bhushan, a member of the joint committee for drafting the Lok Pal Bill, had alleged that the CD was a cut and paste job to discredit the civil society campaign.
