Al Qaeda affiliate HuJI behind Delhi bomb blastsDelhi High Court witnessed another bomb blast, within its vicinity, in a short span of five months. This time a powerful bomb placed in a briefcase outside gate no 5, killed at least 11 people and wounded 76 on Wednesday.  Authorities said that HUJI a south Asian militant group linked to the Al Qaeda has claimed responsibility in an email. The main reception faced the brunt of the 2 kg bomb which created a crater of three to four feet depth.

In an email to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), the South Asian militant group called on India to repeal the death sentence of Afzal Guru, convicted in connection with an attack on the Indian parliament in 2001 and warned it would otherwise target major courts in the country. The veracity of the mail is being checked, by the NIA.

Forensic evidence initially showing nitrate based explosives with possible traces of pentaerythritol tetranitrate (PETN), a powerful high explosive, a senior home ministry official said. Experts believe that the bomb had been made using certain elements which could withstand even rains. It meant that the bomb was designed to blast at any cost. Sketches of two suspects have been released to the public.

The wider bases of citizens feel that it is the negligence of the security that has claimed the lives of the innocent. It renews the concern about the ability of the people on guard to foresee and prevent attacks, particularly in the sensitive high-risk areas. The equipments are out dated or out of service and re-hauling the entire arrangements has been a distant task by the ruling government.

It’s just a feeling of the common man, that do these parties only need our votes to make a fortune for themselves. Looking at the governments across the globe the emphasis each of them gives for health and security, it is stunning that we are still far behind and we really are lacking in good governance.
