Miss. India Vasuki didn't show up for national costume round

MissIndiaMiss India Universe 2011 the hope of every Indian failed to show up for the national costume round at the Miss Universe pageant in Brazil on Monday, as her costume for over a week at the Brazilian customs department.

Vasuki Sunkavalli, a 27-year-old represented India at the pageant in Brazil this year. Vasuki was disappointed as she could not pose in her national costume because it was not delivered on time. The costume was stuck with the Brazil customs for over a week.

After the top 16 list of finalists was announced Vasuki tweeted, "sorry, if I upset many. I did give it my best shot. May the most deserving girl win.

Soon after the fiasco she tweeted, u work so hard for something n u can’t deliver for reasons not in ur control. My national costume was stuck at brazil customs for over a week."

Vasuki, who hails from Hyderabad, was crowned I Am She – Miss Universe India on July 15, 2011 in Mumbai. A lawyer by profession, Vasuki had previously participated in several ramp shows. She is also a state level basketball player and a trained dancer.

The Indians will have to wait another year to have the magic as it happened in 1994 and 2000 when Sushmitha Sen and Lara Dutta won the crowns for the country.
