Hardly 12 hours after a powerful earthquake rocked the northeastern parts of India and parts of Nepal, Tibet and Bangladesh killing 40 people, mild tremors were reported across parts of Maharashtra this morning.
Parts of Latur, Osmanabad and Solapur districts are among the areas that felt the mild quake. Fortunately, there are no immediate reports of loss of life or property. The tremors were reported at 6.20 am.
In 1993, Latur area was rocked by a powerful earthquake resulting in the death of thousands of people and destruction of lakhs of houses.
Parts of Meghalaya also felt mild tremors this morning, according to reports reaching in from the northeastern state of India.
