A Delhi special court today extended till September 27 the interim bail granted to the former Samajwadi party leader Mr Amar Singh, the accused in the 2008 cash-for-vote scam.
As his interim bail period ended today, Amar Singh’s lawyer Mr Ram Jethmalani sought extension of the bail for him on medical grounds and said his client was in hospital with serious kidney problems.
Amar Singh is being treated for kidney infection at the AIIMS in Delhi since September 13. He was arrested and sent to Tihar jail for his involvement in the cash-for-vote scam. He was hospitalized after he developed serious problems with his kidneys.
