Two earthquakes with a magnitude of 5.4 and 6.0 on the Richter scale shook two provinces of Western China early this morning in a gap of two hours.
Fortunately, there are no reports of loss of life or property from the two quakes that jolted the Sichuan and Gansu provinces at sunrise. Reports said people ran out of their houses fearing for their lives.
The epicenter was traced to Qingchuan County in the city of Guangyuan in Sichuan in the first quake and Wenxian County in the city of Longnan in Gansu in the second quake at a depth of 10 km.
