All seems well if the story ends well. Unlike any other Indian family the Ambani brothers celebrated late Dhirubhai Ambani's 80th birthday on Wednesday, and inaugurated a memorial built for him at the housing compound where he was born in 1932.  But the real victory belongs to the mother, Kokilaben, who went all out to weed out the differences between Anil Ambani and Mukesh Ambani.

It was gala celebrations at Chorwad, a small coastal village 420 Km from Ahmedabad. The brothers prayed together, ate together and even shook legs together. After prayers at the local Chorwadi Bhawani temple, Mukesh and Anil joined their wives, mother Kokilaben, sister Nina, their children and other family members, all beaming and dressed up, to dance to the beats of Gujarati dance forms dandiya and sanedo. The brothers join hands to celebrate their father’s birthday for the first time after their split after the demise of the scion. After the 2005 split, officially the brothers met in 2010, when the Supreme Court passed a ruling that brought the brothers back to the negotiating table, where they unexpectedly agreed to scrap the non-competition pact that had been a source of conflict.

This rejoinder was appreciated by the business pundits, but the real happiness is of the mother, who persuaded the brothers. She is quoted as there is love among the brothers... Hum sab saath hain (We are all united)," declared Ambani family matriarch Kokilaben, setting off feverish speculation that the rumored thawing in the frosty relationship between Mukesh and Anil may be for real and deepening.

Addressing a rare press conference in the compound of the house where her late husband, Reliance group founder Dhirubhai Hirachand Ambani, was born, Kokilaben suggested that the no-holds-barred rivalry that defined relations between her sons was a thing of the past and the patch-up agreed in May last year was holding and perhaps growing stronger

This seems to be a positive sign in both the camps, but the Anil group had enjoyed a slight increase in stock prices. But majority of investors are quite clever and await a firm announcement to move further.
