The Maharashtra High Court today ordered the disbandment of the Saibaba Sansthan Trust that governs the famous Shirdi Sai temple, one of the richest in the country.
Delivering judgment on a PIL (Public Interest Litigation) petition filed by the BJP Shirdi unit president Rajendra Gondkar and social activist Sandip Kulkarni, the Aurangabad bench of the High Court directed the Shirdi District Collector to ensure that a new committee is formed within 15 days.
The petitioners have alleged irregularities in the administration of the temple and sought the dismissal of the committee. (J)
