A cultural delegation from India, which includes Ms. Sharmila Tagore, Dr. Pabitra Bhushan Sircar and a Dance Drama group from the Sangeet Natak Academy, will also be participating in the closing ceremony programme along with cultural personalities and groups from Bangladesh.
Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee is scheduled to reach Dhaka on Saturday night to participate as the Guest of Honour in Sunday's Closing ceremony of the joint celebrations of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore.
Mr. Mukherjee will be leading a high level delegation of officials from India at the special programme to mark the conclusion of the joint celebrations which includes Ms. Sangita Gairola Secretary, Ministry of Culture and the Chief Executive Officer of Prasar Bharati Jawahar Sircar who had planned and implemented the Joint Celebrations programme with Bangladesh during his previous assignment as the Secretary, Ministry of Culture. During his visit, Pranab Mukherjee is also scheduled to call on Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during which the two leaders are likely to discuss the progress made on various bilateral issues since Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's visit to Dhaka in September last year. Pranab Mukherjee is also scheduled to call on the Leader of Opposition Begum Khaleda Zia before returning to Delhi on May 6th.
