Gone are the days where primary education had cost peanuts. Today, everything is costly…right from uniforms to text books. In Bangalore, the situation seems to more tight for young parents as private schools are already demanding big pockets to give an entry to their kids. But, now parents will supposedly burn their pockets as private schools are all set to increase the school fee by ten per cent.
Yes, a shocker to many a parent in Garden City. Shelling out huge amounts only for primary education is what reportedly worrying the parents in the city. Come; let us look at fee at some of the schools:
2012-13 |
School Previous year |
Rs. 65,000 per annum Rs. 32,000 per annum |
The Cathedral High School Rs. 42,000 per annum Baldwin School Rs. 30, 000 per annum |
Rs. 42,000 per annum |
Sophia School Rs. 40,000 per annum |
There are, however, mixed responses on schools increasing fees. One of the parents has said that marginal increases were okay for salaried individuals. But she said schools kept on increasing fees whereas the salaries of the middle class remained stagnant. She appealed the schools understand the problems of the problems of the middle class.
All in all, affluent people will have no complaints and it’s the middle class that suffers. However, the quality of education that’s being taught at most of the schools is reportedly on par with international schools. So, it would merely depend on parent’s choice whether or not to send to these schools. So, apparently it would be of no use to raise any complaints on increase in the fee structure.
