AI strike enters 21st day

Air India pilots strike has entered its 21st day on Monday. Air India sources have said that the management has so far lost over Rs. 300 crore due to the strike. The sources have also said that the international bookings have been completely stalled due to the ongoing strike. In order to cope up with this, Air India has even announced tickets for lowest prices and this move reportedly received good response from domestic passengers if not from international passengers, added sources.

Earlier, Air India told clearly that it would say good-bye to the agitating pilots and hire new ones in order see to it that the managements doesn’t face losses. There’s, however, no official information on this so far. Meanwhile, passengers who booked their tickets from different countries to India expressed their ire on the delay in the schedule due to the strike. “My sister was supposed to reach India on May 28 but due to the ongoing Air India strike she cancelled her ticket,” said Dr. Chandra Prakash who is irked over the ongoing Air India pilots strike.

A few days ago a couple passengers even blocked roads leading to airport outside Mumbai airport on May 13. Air India should swiftly look into the issue failing which the entire episode might cost Air India dearly.
