Surjeet Singh meets his family after 3 decades

Surjeet Singh finally returned to his homeland in Ferozepur district in India today after spending decades of jail life in Pakistan. As Surjeet Singh arrived, he smiled and hugged his lawyer. The family members, who gave up hope of seeing Surjeet Singh again, broke in tears looking at 69-year-old Surjeet who beard turned grey. Surjeet Singh's son, who was less than three years old when his father went missing, has welcomed Surjeet Singh with a box of sweets.

After meeting his family members, Surjeet Singh spoke a few words to the media. He said Indian prisoners were treated well in Pakistan jail. Surjeet Singh said he was a RAW agent and none really took efforts to release him when he was convicted on spying charges. Talking about Sarabjit Singh, Surjeet Singh said the jail authorities got confused over names as Surjeet and Sarabjit appear same in Urdu script. He has also said that he would get Sarabjit released.

Meanwhile, a large number of people flocked the town to have a glimpse of the aged Surjeet Singh who arrived from Pakistan jail.
