The petroleum companies have rolled back the petrol prices on June 28 midnight. The price per litre has been reduced by RS. 2. 46. While individuals are expressing their happiness over the sudden roll back of petrol prices, Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee has said that petrol charges should be reduced by 30 rupees per litre. She has also said that petrol charges were rolled down in the wake of presidential elections.
In an official statement by Indian Oil Corporation, the reduction would be between Rs. 2.46 and Rs. 3.22 per litre. In Hyderabad and Bangalore, the petrol charges have been reduced by Rs. 3.22 per litre. And in Delhi the petrol per litre price has been reduced by RS. 2.46 per litre. The variation in the price is due to taxes, said IOC.
It may be recalled that petrol prices were hiked by Rs. 7 per litre recently. The sudden hike of petrol price trigerred uproars across the country and oil companies reduced RS. 2 per litre on June 3 citing the depreciation of oil value in the international market and now the companies decreased the prices further.
