Hong Kong customs department made the largest ever cocaine bust on Friday by condiscating 649 Kgs of Cocaine which was worth $98 million.

Offcials have reported that these drugs were found in a shipping container that had reached Hong Kong from Ecuador.

The US Drug Enforcement Administration had flagged the container for further inspection by the Hong Kong Customs department. The officers followed the shipment till it was driven to the suburbs of the city where it was supposedly to be collected. They later arrested the driver and 2 other men who the officials believe to belong to a local drug group.

Officers speculated that the drugs would be supplied in Southeast Asia or China. The highest cocaine bust prior to this incident happened last year with over 560 Kg of drugs value of $77 million.
