An earthquake which was moderate in intensity was felt in the parts of Nagaland only a few hours into Sunday. The earthquake measured at 5.5 on Richter Scale.
The immediate reports after the quakes had caused no large scale devastation or a single causality.
According to the reports, tremors were measured at 1:25 in the morning. Kohima district was the epicentre of the quake and the origin of the earthquake was almost 35 km below the surface of Earth.
Similar earthquakes of a low incidence were felt on July 1, at around 1.13 am in Arunachal pradesh and it measured at 4.8. Another such incident took place in Phek region in Nagaland at around 9.43 which hit the 5.8 mark on the Richter.
