Abu Jundal remanded to custody of Mumbai police

On Saturday, Abu Jundal was arrested by the Mumbai police for his active involvement in the 26/11 terror attacks and he was produced in the court. Jundal a.k.a. Zaibuddin Ansari was remanded by the court to the custody of police till 31st July.

Jundal who was arrested in another case in Delhi was brought to Mumbai.
Jundal's face was covered when he was produced before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate S.S Shinde of Esplanade court, who later remanded him to the Mumbai Police crime branch.

The crime brach had begun its investigations on the 2008 attacks on Mumbai and produced Jundal before the Additional Metropolitan Magistrate P S Rathod, who remanded him to the custody of police.

Ujjwal Nikam, the special Public Prosecutor, sought the custody of Jundal after he stated that he was the key conspirator in the Mumbai terrot attacks and there were volumes of evidences that pointed out the same. He also said that Jundal controlled the attacks from the control room in Pakistan.
He also assisted Ajmal Kasab by teaching him to speak hindi.

He also said that Jundal should be confronted with Kasab and hence sought custody for 2 weeks but he was granted custody only till July 31.
The trial court had convicted Kasab after killing and injuring hundreds in the terror attacks, Kasab along with 10 others had reached India by sea and open fired without hesitation killing over 166 people on 26.11.2008.
