Sports Minister Ajay Maken has said that the government of the nation would offer all the medal winning athletes in the London Olympics 2012 with coaching jobs. He said, "Government of India has decided to offer coaching jobs to all past and present medal winners at the Olympics," when he talked at the reception which was held at the India House in the honor of the Indian Olympic Team.
He also said the announcement would provide the athletes with great motivation to all the 81 athletes participating in the games. They would be assured of a job for their life.
The initial pay-scale would be similar to that of an Assistant Commissioner of Police and would also be promoted quickly depending on their performances.
All Indians are very eager to see their home team win many medals for the country. The nation is being represented by a team of 81 members which is the primary cause of the excitement and expectations which is 25 members stronger than the contingent last Olympics.
A whopping amount of $36 Million has been spent on the welfare and training of the athletes last year alone.
Leading NRI industrialist Lord Swraj Paul, Lord Gulam Noon, founder chairman of Noon Products, Virendra Sharma, Member of Parliament, Ms Seema Malhotra, Member of Parliament had also attended the reception.
