After a plea was filed by the Delhi police, the Supreme Court would deliver its judgment on the 1999 BMW hit-and-run case today. Delhi Police had requested that Sanjeev Nanda be punished appropriately for his crime 13 years ago.
The Delhi High Court had earlier reduced the sentence of Sanjeev Nanda from five years to two years.
On Wednesday, the SC had freed three other people acquitted in the BMW hit-and-run case on the grounds of a few disagreements in the evidences that were presented.
A bench of justices Deepak Verma and KS Radhakrishnan had revoked the judgement delivered by the verdicts of Delhi High Court and the trial court which had convicted businessman Rajeev Gupta and his two employees Bhola Nath and Shyam Singh.
