In a bizarre incident, a girl has allegedly sold away her orphan friend for Rs. 50,000 in Uttar Pradesh. The incident came to light when the victim managed to escape from the clutches of those who allegedly purchased her and approached the Bulandshahr police. The police, who registered the complaint, have swiftly arrested the accused.

According to police, the orphan girl, who was in her teenage, befriended a couple of friends at school in Aligarh district. The victim belonged to Tanda region of the district. On July 20, the victim's friend took her out to Aligarh along with some of her friends and she was allegedly handed over to a group there for Rs. 50,000. This gory incident shocked the teachers at the school and also the villagers.
