The Supreme Court has deferred the hearing of bail plea of Nupur Talwar, one of the accused in Noida double murder case. Dentist by profession, Nupur Talwar was earlier charged with murder of her daughter Aarushi Talwar and domestic help Hemraj in 2008. Her husand Rajesh Talwar is also an accused. The Ghaziabad Court has been trying the twin murder case.
Nupur Talwar, who has been lodged at a local prison, applied for a bail petition at the Supreme Court. The petition, which came for hearing today, has deferred it to August 13. It may be noted here that CBI looked into the issue and named Talwars as accused. CBI earlier argued before the court that Talwars, when returned home on May 16, 2008, couldn't find Aarushi in the common hall. They later opened the door of Aarushi's bedroom (which was locked) with the help of an extra key. CBI sleuths argued that in a fit of rage, Rajesh Talwar picked up a golf bat and had hit Aarushi till she lost her consciousness. Later, he allegedly slit her throat.
Talwars, on the other hand, have approached Supreme Court earlier pleading that the trials against them be quashed. The Supreme Court, however, turned down their petition.
