Keshubhai Patel, the former leader of the BJP has on Monday announced the name of his new party Gujarat Parivartan Party. He was one of the founder-leaders of BJP in Gujarat.
This decisions follows his untimely resignation from the party on Saturday and had created a new party only to contest in the assembly elections that are to be held in Gujarat.
Most powerful leader of strong 'Patel' community in the state, Keshubhai is a very influential person.
The 83 year old Patel had served the party for over 60 years and Rana had served the party together with him for 50 years. They worked like a family. He was not happy with Modi's government in the state who had deterred from the ideology of the party.
"For the last 10 years, I was watching how the Modi government was undermining the BJP's ideology, democracy and constitutional authorities, including the courts. There is no BJP in Gujarat," he said after his resignation.
