The Chief of MNS, Raj Thackeray on Tuesday in his rally at the Azad Maidan said that there could be the influence of he Bangladeshi immigrants in the violence that was registered on Aug 11. The protests intended against the atrocities committed on the Muslim communities of Assam and Myanmar, had killed two individuals
Thackeray had permits for a rally aand not for a march to the Azad Maidan but that did not stop him from going on a March. There were over 50,000 participants in the violence along the Marine Drive completely halting the activities in southern Mumbai.
He waved a Bangladeshi passport and warned that all the illegal migrants from the nation would devastate the city of Mumbai, in the pro-Hindu rally.
The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief had walloped the Muslim rally saying that certain boundaries are meant not to be crossed. He added that there should not be any assaults on the policemen and other officials physically. "My party will always stand by the cops whenever such cases happen," Raj Thackeray added.
He also pointed out at the safe houses of the illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in UP and Bihar who can travel to Mumbai with ease and stir up the riots.
He also said that he was taking the side of Maharashtra and not of the Hindu religion as he said that his only "dharma" was the "Maharashtra dharma". He also added, "Any person who tries to take law into his hands, beats up cops, mediapersons, molest women cops deserves the severest condemnation from me and my party," the MNS leader said.
He also slammed at the DF government which is led by the congress and also Home Minister RR Patil who had tried to obstruct the MNS rally. He pointed out that there were no obstacles for the protests made by Raza Academy on Aug 11 though it has a questionable history.
Raza Academy had organized a rally few years ago and immediately after a provocative speech at the Azad Maidan, miscreants slaughtered two cops. Raj Thackeray questioned, "Why was such an organization given permission to hold a rally on August 11?"
MNS was booked by the policemen as they had violated the rules and conducted a march, bringing southern Mumbai to a standstill.
