The DCP Mohit Aggarwal, had waved the flag for 38 new Cheetah mobile police bikes on Wednesday which are intended to provide instant help to the victims of petty crimes.
SSP also said that the new Cheetah bikes also sport a new trendy look and cops who were assigned the bikes would be present at all the main crossings and intersections so that the victims can be provided with help immediately. They would also have a direct communication with the police control room which would inform them the coordinates of the crimes.
There were over 10 new teams of police on vehicles stationed in over 9 mains streets of the city. Their main duties include protecting the college and school going girls from harassment, eve teasing and other such offenses. Apart from that the mounted police would also be assigned duties to check petty offenses on roads.
