A special court had announced the conviction of a minister of Gujrat in the Narendra Modi government, Maya Kodnani and the Bajranjdal Leader, Babu Bajrangi in the Narodia Patia Case. This case was supposed to be the biggest massacre of the post-Godhra riots.

In the judgment on the case, 32 people, along with the former Gujarat minister, Maya Kodnani and Babu Bajrangi, were arrested while 29 were acquitted.

In the industrial area of Naroda, in a massacre on February 28, 2002 over 97 people were killed brutally.

Three of the 97 killed people are still missing as 94 bodies were recovered and at least 84 of them were identified.

The crime branch of the city had arrested 47 people and had filed four chargesheets. The Supreme Court had moved the investigations to the hands of a special investigation team, SIT, which arrested 24

The total number of chargesheets filed in regard to this case are eight.

After the case was filed in 2009, it the trial had took place for more than two years.
