Dengue claims two more lives, total 9 dead

The number of deaths caused by Dengue had risen to 9 after two more deaths were reported from Apollo Gleneagles due to the killer virus in the season, the state health department mentioned on its website on Wednesday.

The hospital howeer had contradicting reports stating that only one patient died of dengue in the hospital. They also said that the cause of the other death would be confirmed only on Thursday.

The number of victims of the disease increased greatly spreading the disease all over the city while private hospitals are trying to take suitable steps to manage the victims.

A few hospitals had also turned down people who had been suffering from other serious ailments to accommodate the patients of Dengue. Few even have admitted patients on trolleys, which is not the usual case in a private hospital.

The shortage of beds in the hospital they have also admitted people on trolleys unable to reject the need for the hospitalization.

Mary Banwar (30) a support staff of RTIICS died on Tuesday. Banwar was admitted to the hospital on Monday and was detected to have dengue. He had died of cardiac arrest on the next day. Rabindranath Tagore International Institute of Cardiac Sciences (RTIICS) is now treating over 31 dengue patients.
