The last day of the Delhi Book Fair attracted a fairly large crowd to mark the ending of the festival-like event for all the book worms. On Sunday, the footfalls at Pragati Maidan were a large number.
Most sought after books were the spiritual, religion and the fashion designing books. Novels as usual in any case were the most purchased.
The fair which started this month, had a novel exhibition of e-books too. There were several regional, and international authors being promoted at the event. Countries like China, Pakistan, US, Britain, France and Germany had participated in the book fair. The average visitors to the fair are around 3 lakh people.
"The response has been very good over the weekend. On Sunday, a lot of families and college students turned up at the venue," said a publisher. He added that the sales had doubled over the weekend.
Regardless of the technology and gadgets that are being released in the market, the books, be it paperbacks, hardbound or leather-bounds, would never lose their status amongst the readers.
