On Monday a lawyer told Supreme Court that the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was wrongly accused of rape in 2011 in the confinement case in the Allahabad High Court.  The case was filed by Akhilesh Yadav, the now chief minister of Uttar Pradesh.

Justice BS Chauhan and Justice Swatanter Kumar, the bench at the Supreme Court, were informed the same by Kamini Jaiswal, a lawyer in the course of the hearing of Kishore Samrite's petition. He had challenged the high court orders which had asked the CBI to start a probe against him and a fine of Rs 50 Lakh.
A stay was ordered by the apex court in the operation back in April.
