Ceasefire violation by Pak troops at LoC

Yet again after a short abeyance, Pak troops had violated the ceasefire as they shot at the Indian Posts all along the Line of Control, LoC, in the Poonch sector, Jammu and Kashmir.

An official for the defense said that the Pakistani forces had fired RPGs, and then launched several rounds of indiscriminate firing on the India post at the Nangi-Tikri forward areas all along the LoC in Poonch sector.

Rocket Projectile Grenades, RPGs, and over 600 rounds of Light Machine Guns, LMGs were fired apart from a few other indiscriminate weapons at 11:15pm in the night on Monday for 30 minutes.


Troops of Army stationed along the Poonch Sector had return fired and had brought the situation under control. There were no casualties on both sides.

In another distinct incident along the Poonch Sector, attacks on the India Post, Kundna in Sabzian forward belt along the LoC, lasted for five minutes.

"There was no loss of life or damage to property in the firing and the Army replied back effectively", he said.

This is the 15th time Pakistan had violated the ceasefire in the last 18 days as it fired mortars, rockets and small arms along the International Border (IB) and Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.
