A major fire had broken out in the Manish Market at South Mumbai today. Over 12 fire tenders and water tankers too to action to suppress the flames engulfing the area. Three ambulances have also rushed to the spot immediately.
Initial reports mention that the flames are huge. Manish Market is a composite of several lanes and bylanes making it more difficult to douse the flames with the water regardless of the number of fire tenders.
The cause of the fire has not been understood yet as further details on the same are awaited.
This is not the first time of a fire breakout in Manish Market. On November 26, 2011 there was another major fire breakout that had brought down over 300 shops to ashes. Back then the flames had erupted due to a sabotage.
