Opposition calls for 'Bharat Bandh' today

The opposition parties had vented out their discontentment on the recent decisions on the record-high price hike on diesel, subsidized cooking gas cap, and also the FDI on the multi-brand retail of 51% by convening a nationwide bandh today. They are asking the government to rollback the changes they have made for the welfare of the middle and lower class people.

On Thursday morning the Samajwadi Party had blocked the rail traffic at Allahabad railway station. The Patna Stations was also stopped from functioning after BJP Yuva Morcha activists had started their agitation.
Workers of SP, CPM, CPI, TDP, BJD, JD (S), All India Forward Bloc and the RSP have already planned to organize picketing, other demonstrations and even court arrest if they have to do so.

BJP-led NDA is also supporting the 'bharat bandh'.
