Beni Prasad Verma, the senior cabinet minister representing Uttar Pradesh has a whole new level of understanding fraternity but it look like he has lost his understanding of embezzlement of funds. He strongly supported the Union Law Minister Salman Khurshid by saying Rs 71 Lakh is a very small sum for any Cabinet Minister to embezzle. He also added that he would have worried if the sum was Rs 71 crores.

This comes after Arvind Kejriwal had alleged that Khurshid had some financial irregularities in the trust of an NGO run by Salman and his wife. He was accused of misappropriation of Rs 71 lakhs which was intended for the benefit of differently-abled people.

Mr Verma however said, "I believe Salman Khurshid could not have embezzled Rs. 71 lakh," he said, "Rs. 71 lakh is a very small amount for a Central minister. I would have taken it seriously if the amount was Rs. 71 crore."

In a mocking tone, whilst wishing Kejriwal on his new party Verma said, "My advice to him is don't bark day and night... roar once in a while. Those who roar once in a while are looked upon as tigers."

The Uttar Pradesh government has commissioned an inquiry against Mr Khurshid's NGO.
