A couple reached Nainital to spend merry time at the hill station but the husband had other plans instead of holidaying. He had taken his wife to the hill station to get rid of her once and for all to keep his second marriage allegedly. The police arrested the man but are still unable to understand the case completely.

The wife reached the police after the husband made two attempts to kill her. Anita Upadhya Tyagi and her husband Ashish Tyagi had been to Nainital for a holiday. The software engineer husband had insisted for a walk on the night of Sunday immediately on their arrival to the place. The next morning when the couple went for a walk while the wicked husband pushed her off the gorge but she was luckily saved by the trees that checked her momentum. She initially thought it was an accident but later when she returned she was pushed again. A passerby noticed the commotion at the place and fired in the air to frighten the beau. Anita making no delay rushed to the Mallital police to lodge a complaint.

Ashish seemed to be a criminal in the making after he had reached the police station earlier than her wife complaining that her wife slipped into the gorge while they were arguing. He also said they had not been on good terms since they reached Nainital on Sunday.

Anita alleged that he attempted to kill her while suspecting that his second marriage in February could be the driving force behind this.

"We have registered a case under IPC Section 307. We are trying to find out more about the man named Anil Gariya, who told us that Ashish even tried to strangulate Anita and was shouting that she had to die," said Nainital SSP Sadanand Date.
