The bad French Connection; Who is the father of former minster's child?

We know, the french are very romantic people but we must agree that political elite of the country is notoriously even more! From Napoleon-Josephine to Sarkozy-Bruni, history has been fortunate/ unfortunate ( depends upon your moral bank account) enough to  chronicle some of the most talked about affairs of the french ruling class. It is quiet evident that when we say Paris being the most romantic city in the world, the title is indeed justified. The city surely has a way of making people go lovesick. And we are not complaining either.

Adding to the list, Former justice minister under president Nicholas Sarkozy, Rachida Dati  created a sensation when the media reported that she has had as many as eight ( ! ) lovers around the time she got pregnant in 2008.  In bizarre way now she is fighting a legal bid to have a hotel tycoon recognized as the father of her daughter Zohra. The matter took an surprising twist when multi-millionaire Dominique Desseigne, 68, refused to take a DNA test after being accused of being the girl's father. In an interview given to La Monde magazine he said that  he was one of many who had an 'adventure' with Ms Dati, and that he 'does not know' if he is Zohra's father. Moreover, his lawyers have suggested in written evidence that she was involved in 'up to eight relationships' at the time. These included 'a TV host, a minister, a chief executive office, a Spanish prime minister, a brother of Nicolas Sarkozy, a Qatari Attorney General and the heir to a luxury goods empire,' says the magazine article.

Under French law, anybody approached for a test can say no, although Ms Dati is said to have other proof, including sworn statements from her staff that Mr Desseigne constantly visited 'their'
child soon after she was born. Friends of Desseigne quoted by Le Monde claimed that Dati had sent him threatening letters making it clear she would settle the case out of court in return for a pay-off.

This is yet another never ending controversy related to the private lives of french politicians including the president Francois Hollande . Last month it emerged that Valerie Trierweiler, the current first lady, was at one stage the mistress of both Hollande and Patrick Devedjiana, a conservative minister.

Well, it seems we must blame Paris for everything..!
