Former CBI chief echoes opposition's demand

Fueling more to the heated controversies over the appointment of new CBI chief Ranjit Sinha, the outgoing chief of the investigative agency AP Singh has stated that it was actually the CBI itself that had first originated the idea of a collegium to appoint the CBI Director . His statement echoed opposition's demand for an executive council comprising of PM, the Chief Justice  and the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, to appoint the CBI chief.

Talking to the reporters, Singh said that CBI directors should get a fixed term of three or five years. Ex-Chief who investigated the 2G spectrum scam added that CBI hasn't reached to any exact loss figure yet and the case is going on under the monitoring of Supreme court.
