Vladmir Putin who visited India today to hold talks with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has signed deals which were worth several billion dollars today while seeking to enhance the defence ties between both the nations.
Cooperatively, India signed a deal of $1.6 billions while purchasing 42 Sukhoi Su-30 fighter jets and another $1.3 billions for the delivery of 71 Mil Mi-17 military helicopters.
Apart from the deals, they also talked on the discussions on security in the region focusing on Afghanistan. They agreed that both the nations have the same plan of stabilizing the region of Afghanistan with a united, democratic and a prosperous government with no threats of extremism, according to Manmohan Singh who talked to the reporters immediately after the conference.
